- Why was this site created?
- As pivotal as this battle was in determining the future of Ireland, there wasn't a great deal of digestible information available online. The goal was to bring the battle to life using modern tools and tell the story for those unaware of it's signifigance.
- Who is behind the site?
- The site is the brainchild of Cian Walsh, a designer based in Kinsale. Frustrated with the lack of enagaging information about such a momentous moment, he set about creating a resource to bring the battle to life for visitors and locals alike.
- What tools were used to bring this site and characters to life?
- Cian used a wide range of technical tools from Unreal Engine to animate the combatants through video and graphic design tools to bring the environments to life. AI was used in certain areas to generate some areas of the town reconstruction.
- Have the historical facts been checked?
- All information contained on the site has been fact checked and verified by historians and against verified sources. If there are areas you believe to be inaccurate please let us know by email.
- Is there any plans to expand the story to other elements of the battle.
